ADR
Candidates must take at least three modules to gain the Vocational Certificate (ADR). These must be the Core, either Tanker or Packaged Goods modules and one of the nine classes, which cover the specific type of substance being carried. The ADR Certificate is valid for 5yrs from date of issue, and must be carried when transporting dangerous / hazardous goods.
DGSA
The Department For Transport, Local Government and the Regions (DTLR) is responsible for the implementation in the UK of the European Community Directive 96/35/EC. This Directive is about the appointment and training of safety advisers involved in the carriage of dangerous goods by road. By the 1st January 2000, any company or other organisation that transports dangerous goods (and certain other organisations involved in report related activities), should have appointed a qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser or Dangerous Goods Safety Advisers Consultant.

Hazedous Awareness
With effect from March 1999, a training requirement was introduced to the Carriage of Explosives by Road, Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road Regulations and the ADR Regulations (as amended).

Drivers Hours / WTD
It is a legal requirement for drivers of most goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes permissible maximum weight to keep records of the time they spend driving, their break and rest periods and other periods of duty. The purpose of keeping such records is to ensure that both EU and British drivers' hours laws are being observed.

Digital Tachograph
With the fitting of Digital Tachographs becoming law in may 2006 it will not be long before you require either a driver card or training, or as an operator purchasing new vehicles with digital tachographs fitted.

We can offer training to meet all your needs for both drivers and managers. Whether we carry out training at your company premises or at our fully equipped training centre. Out of hours training is available at a small premium.

We can also advise on products to purchase in order to down load and analyse drivers activities and vehicle data. You can also hire our training simulators.

CPC Managers & Drivers
Managers
For those wishing to undertake employment in the Road Haulage Industry as a transport manager or owner operator, are required by the Road Traffic Act to undertake the course of instruction and pass the test standards set by the Oxford, Cambridge & Royal Society of Arts Examination Board (OCR).
Drivers
A new qualification for professional bus, coach and lorry drivers - the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) - has been given the Government go-ahead. In future, just holding a vocational driving licence will not be sufficient for someone who wishes to drive such vehicles for a living.

This two day course is designed for those who passed their national road haulage CPC examination and who require revision and updating on the operational subjects covered by the CPC.
