The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) has been a requirement for professional drivers since 2008/2009 (bus and coach/lorry) and was introduced across the European Union (EU) to maintain high driving standards and to improve road safety. To get certified, drivers must complete 35 hours of JAUPT (Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training) approved training within every 5 years.
