To keep hold of your Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), 35 hours of Periodic CPC training need to be completed every five years. Your certificate of attendance is yours to keep upon completion of the course and its such a fantastic feeling when you get your DQC (Driver Qualification Card) – this must stay with you whenever you are driving a PCV or LGV.

New drivers are required to gain their Driver CPC qualification before being able to drive professionally and there are four parts that need to be passed. There is a theory test, followed by case studies, a practical test and ten finally candidates are asked to participate in a vehicle safety demonstration.
